I’m a Personal Trainer with 15 years of experience.  In that time I have learned many different approaches to achieving total fitness in people of all levels of fitness. I believe that as a fitness professional it is my duty to be constantly adding quality tools to my ‘health and wellness’ toolbox.

I also like to use all the tools in my toolbox any chance I get.

Thankfully I have had the opportunity to stand close to a number of brilliant people that are willing to share their thoughts and philosophies, which has led me to one conclusion.

None of us have all the answers

It is when we fail to ask the questions that we hold ourselves back from truly learning – regardless of whether an answer follows or not.

I have experience in and am available to present nationally and write and speak on a range of subjects fitness and health-related.

I am currently working closely with with F3, a group dedicated to helping ‘wounded warriors’ returning from Iraq trying to adapt to life with their ‘physical alterations’.

I also am part of a team that works internationally through webcam-to-webcam personal training to help people find true health and fitness in such a way that respects the multidimensionality of the human spirit.

I embrace this style of non-intimidating personal training because I believe that a multi-dimensional approach to health and fitness brings multi-dimensional results.

I know, I know.. she is waaaay out of my league (nobody tell her that though ok? She still hasnt figured it out!)

A shot of Taryn and I the night I proposed to her (she said yes!) I know, I know.. she is waaaay out of my league... (nobody tell her that though, ok? - She still hasn't figured it out and I am NOT about to tell her!)

A recent history of Jamie Atlas:

www.PTontheNET.com
Best and most cost-effective resource for personal trainers. End of story. This company opened my eyes to the real world of fitness – the good, the bad, and the ugly.

When talking with our authors and other experts we used to build the content for this site, I was able to humiliate myself on a daily basis by talking with the worlds cutting edge experts.

Bad for my ego, great for my knowledge.

NPTI Personal Training School
A local school where I work as part of the faculty teaching people how to be personal trainers – it is true that really want to know and understand something, just try teaching it.

Webcam Training
With a webcam, an internet connection and a 2×4foot space, you can have access to the worlds best trainers and a world of cutting edge expertise. At home, on the road, anywhere, anytime.  Contact me at jamescatlas

FreeMotionFitness Functional Movement Presenter
To present to audiences internationally gives an illuminating perspective of just how different each of us see health and fitness. Each country seems to have their own perspective and priorities – each with its own positives and negatives.

GIFT program – 2008
This program is driven by one of the worlds elite physical therapists, Gary Gray. I have worked with the Gray Institute on a couple of projects, and their perspective and approach to both people and the science of movement is without peer. I owe each and every member of this group a great debt of gratitude.

It is my hope that the concepts and ‘home truths’ written in this blog will spur a dialogue to help both personal trainers and individuals find a more cost-effective (and time-effective) approach to health and fitness.

The good news:

There’s a lot of opportunity for all of us to improve (and yours truly is no exception)!

Jamie, I like the site. I have already benefited from our virtual training sessions. I love the convenience of working out from home and I really enjoy the workouts, especially the combination moves that engage so many muscles for strength, stretching, and stability all at the same time! You rock!

Jamie–
Great site–I like it! There is lots of good stuff here. And you’ll have lots of time to write even more new and exciting articles about “sleep deprived workouts” when little Baby Jamie arrives (don’t let Taryn read this!).

16. Glenda Nall - March 5, 2009

Jamie,

I am a 42 year old female that has recently lost 23 lbs and reduced my bodyfat from 23.4 to around 13.5. I am currently lifting weights three times a week and have transformed with nice definition. I am doing intensity running or doing incline training for cardio on opposite days. I watched your yourtube video on the butt secret and I am definitely going to incorporate this into my lunges. My butt is sagging at the bottom and I really did not know what I was doing wrong until today. Prior to losing the weight I did not have a sagging butt. Just larger than I desired from fat. My question is how many reps and how many sets to you suggest. Do I stick with what I would do normally if I were doing lunges or do you have another suggestion?

jamieatlas - March 5, 2009

Hey Glenda! I totally understand. First of all, congratulate yourself on having lost the weight and put weightlifting into your regular schedule! Incorporate the butt secret lunge move with 3 sets of 12 reps – carry extra weight if you think you could do 15 reps ok? If I were to suggest other exercises I would need to see you move and make an assessment of what you can do. If you want to contact me with more questions just email jamescatlas ‘at’ yahoo.com

Thanks for watching the video Glenda and thanks for your post!
