So I know my 5 month old baby doesn’t have the best leg tone, but she makes a great demo model for an exercise video.

Marley Rhu Atlas getting a quick warm-up in before her matrix performance
The squat matrix works the muscles of the legs in multiple muscle angles and planes of motion.
If you have been taught the squat can only be done with the feet shoulder width apart, you need only ask yourself one question:
Why is it only acceptable to squat with feet at shoulder width?
Why not with a wide/narrow stance? Why not with toes angled out/in? Why not with one foot forward or back behind the other leg?
What might happen if you were to develop strength in a variety of positions?
However, in a world where inches make the difference between a hit and a miss, a made or a missed shot:
What might you miss out on if you didn’t have strength in a variety of positions?
As my daughter will now demonstrate, the Gary Gray Squat Matrix can be done by just about anyone
Here is a quick explanation of the nomenclature shown in the video:
XXE (neutral stance, neutral width, feet externally rotated)
LXE (left foot forward, neutral width, feet externally rotated)
RXE (right foot forward, neutral width, feet externally rotated)
Seeing a pattern here? Try this one on for size:
RWE? Have a think to see if you can figure it out then scroll down for the answer:
(figured it out? It’s kind of like “squat sudoku”, right?!)
Right foot slightly forward, Wide stance width, feet externally rotated.
Now that you know them, stand up and try them! If you can keep up with my daughter then you get a Marley Rhu Atlas signed diaper – it’s the new rookie card
Ewwww…
Yours in health,
Jamie Atlas

Hi Jamie,
Great site and post! I’m a huge Gary Gray fan….actually I think we’ve met. I’m the inventor of Akrowheels which Gary has spoken about in some talks he’s given with Perform better.

Keep up the great work!

Thanks! keep up the great work….We’d love to get a testimonial from Gary if he would be interested!
OMG!!! I love it!
This has got to be the most entertaining instructional vid ever! She’s adorable, too!
Gary Gray is a genius, but you already know that!
Great legs on that baby! I wonder what she will grow up to become.
